Croduino Basic3 sketch upload fails with 'An error occurred while uploading this sketch'

Customer:

I recently purchased a Starter Kit and Croduino Basic3 board and wanted to test it using the “Blink” example. The example is supposed to turn on a built-in LED for one second and turn it off for one second, looping continuously.

When uploading the example to the Croduino, the Arduino IDE shows “Uploading…” at the bottom, and after a few seconds an error appears:

An error occurred while uploading this sketch.

After searching online, I found instructions to put the Croduino in “reset mode” by connecting TX and RX pins with a jumper cable and connecting GND and RST pins. I was also told to verify that the correct drivers are installed and that the correct serial port is selected in the IDE. The instructions said that if I type some text in the Serial Monitor application, the Croduino should echo that text back in the same window. However, this does not happen.

I have tried with different USB cables, different USB ports, and even different computers, but the same problem occurs.

I contacted an Arduino-focused tech support forum and their assumption was that there is a faulty PCB connection on the board itself and that I should request a replacement.

If this information is incorrect, please correct it and suggest what else I could try to resolve the problem.

An error occurred while uploading this sketch.

Soldered Support:

The Croduino Basic3 has an Atmel ATmega328 microcontroller, the same as the Croduino Basic2. It is an 8-bit microcontroller. More information can be found in the datasheet: https://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Components/SMD/ATMega328.pdf

Croduino Basic3 na sebi ima Atmel ATmega328 mikrokontroler kao i Croduino Basic2.

Radi se o 8-bitnom mikrokontroleru.
