Croduino Damba compile and upload issues

Customer:

I’m having trouble compiling and uploading a program to Croduino Damba. Code works fine with Basic2 (compiles and uploads), but when I try to move the program to Damba I can’t: 1. Compilation doesn’t work. 2. When I remove part of the code and compilation succeeds, the upload doesn’t work. I need some guidance.

Original message (Croatian)

Molim neke smjernice.

U prilogu detaljniji info.

Unaprijed hvala,

Soldered Support:

First, are you following our tutorial: https://e-radionica.com/hr/blog/2016/03/07/kako-programirati-croduino-damba/

It would also help to see the code you’re compiling, as not all libraries work with this package. Here’s a list from an older version’s references; the newer version doesn’t have a similar list, but these commands should be supported:

  • pinMode()
  • digitalWrite()
  • digitalRead()
  • analogRead()
  • analogWrite()
  • shiftOut()
  • pulseIn()
  • millis()
  • micros()
  • delay()
  • delayMicroseconds()
  • SoftwareSerial (has been updated in Arduino 1.0)

The following Arduino commands should be supported:
pinMode()
digitalWrite()
digitalRead()
analogRead()
analogWrite()
shiftOut()
pulseIn()
millis()
micros()
delay()
delayMicroseconds()
SoftwareSerial (has been updated in Arduino 1.0)

I am following that tutorial. In the meantime I installed the IDE on another computer (MAC) with the same version and compilation works there. However, I also couldn’t get the upload to work (I’ll try with another Damba - it might be a hardware issue). The code I’m testing with is blinking LEDs on D0. I’m not sure about power supply during code upload. Do I need to connect power or does the controller get power through one of the programming pins?

Soldered Support:

You don’t need to connect a battery; power is supplied by the programmer board. Compilation is IDE-related - if it doesn’t work, the IDE is not properly installed or configured, likely something related to attiny85 wasn’t properly set up.

Original message (Croatian)
