Croduino Pico programming with Arduino Basic2 and pin initialization

Customer:

Where can I find instructions for programming the Pico board? How do I connect it to a PC for programming? Is there a tutorial?

Original message (Croatian)

Pozdrav. Molim vas link na uputstva kako programirati pico plocicu? Kako da je spojim na pc za programiranje? Ima li tutorial?

Hvala

Soldered Support:

Would you be programming it with another Arduino or with a USB to TTL adapter?

Original message (Croatian)

programirali biste s drugim Arduinom ili nekim USB to TTL adapterom?

Customer:

With Arduino Basic2 if possible.

Original message (Croatian)

S arduino basic2 ako je izvedivo

Hvala

Soldered Support:

Yes, that works.

Connect the boards:

Basic2 → Pico
+5V → +5V
gnd → gnd
Tx → Tx
Rx → Rx
reset(rst) → gnd

Set up Arduino IDE the same way you would for programming Basic2.
Press the reset button on the Pico board.
Click Upload in Arduino IDE.
Release the reset button when “Uploading…” appears in Arduino IDE.

Original message (Croatian)

Naravno.

Povežite pločice:

Basic2 → Pico

+5V → +5V

gnd → gnd

Tx → Tx

Rx → Rx

reset(rst) → gnd

Arduino IDE postavite kako biste inače programirali Basic2
Pritisnite reset tipku na Pico pločice
Stisnite Uplad u Arduino IDE
Pustite reset tipku kada se u Arduino IDE pojavi Uplading…

I got the answer, understood everything clearly. One more question if I may - I have an RGB LED connected to the board. When booting, clearly before setup() runs, the LED lights up white for about 1.5s. After setup() executes, it lights up in the color I want.

I’m assuming Croduino sets all pins to high when resetting/booting? Am I right? Can this be avoided?

The LED isn’t critical, but I’m planning to add relays and an RF transmitter, and I wouldn’t want clicking during board boot when I’d prefer the pins to be low.

Dobio sam odgovor, sve shvatio, precizno, hvala vam puno.

Pretpostavljam da croduino prilikom reset/boot sve pinove stavi u high? Jesam li u pravu? Moze li se to izbjeci?

Nije mi dioda toliko bitna, ali planiram staviti releje i rf transmitter i ne bih volio klackanje prilikom boota plocice, kad bih volio da su pinovi low

Hvala

Soldered Support:

Which pins do you have the LED connected to?

Original message (Croatian)

na koje pinove ste spojili diodu?

Customer:

On digital pins, PWM, 0, 1, and 2.

Original message (Croatian)

Na digitalne, pwm, 0, 1 i 2

Soldered Support:

We recommend not using pins 0 and 1 at all because they are used for serial communication with the computer and will activate during every boot or reset of the board.

Also, PWM pins are marked with the “~” symbol. On Croduino Basic boards they are digital pins: 11, 10, 6, 5, and 3.

Original message (Croatian)
