Customer:
I recently purchased some DAC MCP4725 units and the available datasheets don’t seem to completely match the hardware. I need to understand the formula for calculating the output voltage when changing the input voltage. What is the relationship between input voltage and output voltage for this DAC?

Soldered Support:
The formula for output voltage calculation is available in the accompanying documentation. When you change the input voltage, the output voltage will change accordingly. You can calculate the output voltage using the formula, where Vref is the input voltage to the IC. You need to know what LSB value is set, which you configure through firmware.

What is the input and output voltage range of the DAC converter? Also, what do “V_full scale” and “V_zero scale” mean?
Soldered Support:
Because a voltage regulator is included on the board, the maximum output is 3.3V. The breakout can be powered through an easyC connector (3.3V signals) or through header pins (5V signals), but the output pin of the DAC will always reach a maximum of 3.3V.
V_full scale is the voltage on the output pin when all bits are set to logical 1 in the DAC output control register (3.3V).
V_zero scale is the voltage on the output pin when all bits are set to logical 0 (0V).
