Dasduino CONNECT upload fails with esptool timeout on Arduino IDE 2.0.4

Customer:

I received a Dasduino beginner IoT set. I followed the instructions for adding the board, but I cannot upload a simple LED blink sketch. I am using Arduino IDE 2.0.4.

The error message is:

Sketch uses 260873 bytes (27%) of program storage space. Maximum is 958448 bytes.

Global variables use 27980 bytes (34%) of dynamic memory, leaving 53940 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 81920 bytes.

Could this be a hardware error?

Original message (Croatian)

Lp,

Soldered Support:

Try a different USB cable to connect the board to your computer—use one you know works (such as one from a phone). Also make sure you have selected the correct COM port.

If you have tried these steps and are confident everything is correct, try pressing the reset button on the Dasduino when “Connecting” appears in Arduino and the dots start scrolling. If the upload succeeds after reset, then the board itself has an error and will be replaced.

Customer:

I tried the steps you mentioned but was not able to connect the board. I have tested the sensors on another Arduino device and everything works fine, so I would like to return only the board.

Pozdrav, napravila sam navedene korake, no nisam uspjela spojiti board.
Puno hvala i lijep pozdrav, [name removed]

Which board definition did you use, what version, and what upload settings did you configure?

Original message (Croatian)

Customer:

I used the board definition link from your website:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SolderedElectronics/Dasduino-Board-Definitions-for-Arduino-IDE/master/package_Dasduino_Boards_index.json

I selected Dasduino Connect (ESP8266).

Under Board info there is no data. I assume there should be board information there.

Original message (Croatian)

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SolderedElectronics/Dasduino-Board-Definitions-for-Arduino-IDE/master/package_Dasduino_Boards_index.json

Dasduino Connect (ESP8266)

Pod board info nema nikakvih podataka, pretpostavljam da bih ovdje trebala imati informacije o boardu.

Soldered Support:

Try uploading using Arduino IDE version 1 (the Legacy IDE 1.8.X version, available free at https://www.arduino.cc/en/software). Add the same board definitions to it.

Upload your sketch using the Legacy IDE. The process is similar: select Dasduino CONNECT as the board, select the correct COM port, and click upload. You can even upload a blank sketch—we just need to see if the upload works. You do not need to change any settings; the defaults are fine.

Once you have everything set up, please send a screenshot of the Tools menu along with the results. This will help us confirm that the correct board definition is being used.

Original message (Croatian)

Kada postaviš sve - možeš li uz rezultate poslati i screenshot ‘Tools’ izbornika?
