Dasduino CONNECTPLUS proximity logging with Bluetooth for livestock tracking

Customer:

We are interested in putting proximity sensors on cows for a given period to record which cows that are close to each other. Do you have a sensor that can run on battery and store data for a few days?

For this application, simple proximity sensors are not ideal. Instead, you could use the Dasduino CONNECTPLUS with batteries and an SD card breakout.

Since the Dasduino CONNECTPLUS is ESP32 based, it has Bluetooth. You can create modules with a battery and SD card logging, where the Dasduino wakes up from deep sleep, scans which Bluetooth devices are in the area (with signal strength to indicate proximity), then logs this data to the SD card. By naming each Bluetooth network after each cow, you would get proximity records for which cows are near each other.

Are you Bluetooth qualified? This seems to be a requirement: https://www.bluetooth.com/

Yes. Since the Dasduino CONNECTPLUS is ESP32 based and the ESP32 is the main component doing the Bluetooth, it is certified. You can verify this in the Bluetooth registry at https://launchstudio.bluetooth.com/Listings/Search by searching for “ESP32-WROVER-E”.
