Dasduino CONNECTPLUS stepper motor only moves forward with negative steps

Customer:

I’m using the Basic-Stepper-Driver-SOLDERED library with a Dasduino CONNECTPLUS board to control a bipolar stepper motor. The motor should move forward and backward when a button on pin 6 is pressed, but it only moves forward. Even when I call stepper.move() with a negative value, the motor moves forward again instead of backward.

Here’s my code:

#include "Basic-Stepper-Driver-SOLDERED.h"

BasicStepper stepper(BasicStepper::FULL4WIRE, 2, 3, 4, 5);

const int tasterpin = 6;
int tasterstatus = HIGH;

void setup()
{
  stepper.setMaxSpeed(500);
  stepper.setAcceleration(100);
  stepper.setSpeed(200);
  pinMode(tasterpin, INPUT_PULLUP);
}

void loop()
{
  tasterstatus = digitalRead(tasterpin);

  if (tasterstatus == LOW)
  {
    stepper.move(2048);
    while (stepper.run()) {}
    delay(1000);

    stepper.move(-2048);
    while (stepper.run()) {}
    delay(1000);
  }
}

Soldered Support:

This is typically caused by pin configuration mismatches with your stepper motor coils. The motor moves forward and backward using the following pin configuration on the Dasduino CONNECTPLUS board:

IN1 - IO3 (RX)
IN2 - IO5
IN3 - IO2
IN4 - IO4

Try adjusting your pin configuration in the stepper initialization. If the issue persists, experiment with different pin orderings until the motor responds correctly to both positive and negative step values.
