Customer:
I’m evaluating the Fire Sensor Board 333047 for a product that requires infrared flame detection. The application has a strict operating temperature requirement of -40°C to 155°C. Is this sensor rated for this temperature range? If not, are there alternatives with the same infrared flame detection capabilities?

Soldered Support:
The 333047 is not rated to be accurate or functional in that temperature range. The onboard chip is a LM393 comparator, which are typically rated to work up to 80°C maximum. 155°C is beyond the operating range.
For your application, you would need to look into industrial or military grade IR sensors. Alternatively, you can use the 333047 design as a basis and source components rated for extreme temperature operation. The design is straightforward—it’s an application circuit for the comparator chip.
