Customer:
I have followed your suggestions on how to get help twice now, and each time what you suggested did not work. Your site forum login does not recognize my customer account and refuses entry. After only one rejection I get a “you tried too many times” message. I cannot proceed with using my new Inkplate 10 because I cannot install CH340 drivers, but before I can get help for my basic question I am in trouble with how to log in and ask for help.

Apologies for the technical issues with the forum. Our IT team is working on it, but at this moment it is still broken. Let me help you directly.
Can you tell me more details about your CH340 issue? Are you using Windows OS? Did you follow this tutorial to install the drivers: https://e-radionica.com/en/blog/ch340-driver-installation-croduino-basic3-nova2/
Customer:
I followed that tutorial several times. I can search and find the executable in several places through different dates and the results are the same. After the install, Windows runs and completes with a “you have successfully completed” pre-install message. At this point I even restarted my PC to complete the install. However, when I start up and attach my 10" board through USB and check Device Manager to see if I have the indicated port, I do not see it. As a result, my Arduino program errors out in communicating with the board. The instructions start with “if I have a USB to UART device” - how do I know this?
Soldered Support:
You do have the device from the tutorial, so steps from it should be completed.
After installing the drivers and computer restart, does your board appear in Device Manager, such as in this picture: Soldered: Open-Source Electronics, Boards, Sensors & Modules – Soldered Electronics
The board must be plugged in at the moment and turned on.
Please let me know if you see the device in Device Manager.

After I reset the password and log onto your member site, I wait a day and try to use the same username and password to get to the Forum. I get an error message. Please help me get to the forum so I can see if others have experienced my issue.

Sorry about the forum issues - they are technical in nature and our IT team is working on it. You cannot post right now, but you are able to read everything.
Looks like the board is not recognized. Do you have “Thank you for purchasing Inkplate” text on the front side of it? If yes, that confirms that the board was tested and confirmed to be working.
Can you send me a photo of the Inkplate when plugged into the USB port? I need to see the back side of the board.
Customer:
I tracked the error to my USB-C power and recharging cable. USB-C is not widely used here yet and the one I had in oval form with the horizontal separator that would fit your port was power only - only the 2 outside connections are live for +5V and -5V. The middle connectors for data are absent. Therefore I could see power in the board and recharging of the LiPo battery, but it would fail in being recognized as a USB data port. I purchased a new USB-C cable and the COM port was recognized. I am now successfully running through the examples.
What format are the images stored in on the Micro SD card for them to be displayed on screen? The image builder mentioned on your web page is not required. My previous e-ink paper experience required an image to hex header code translator?
Soldered Support:
Good catch on the USB cable issue!
You can use BMP, JPG or PNG pictures from the SD Card: Inkplate Arduino — Inkplate docs documentation
You don’t really need an image converter, only if you want to convert the image to a HEX array and store it in Inkplate RAM memory.
