Inkplate 10 control with 24V DC input signals

Customer:

I want to use the E-Ink display to create two backgrounds: one dark black and one opaque white. I need to send a digital signal - when 24 Volt DC is applied to one pin, the display should turn dark black, and when 24 volt is applied to another pin, the display should turn opaque white. I’d like this with a proper case.

This is possible using Inkplate. You will need to write an Inkplate sketch which reads a 24V DC signal on an analog pin to determine if it’s high or low.

Since the 24V DC pin cannot connect directly to the ESP32 (which takes 3V3 max), you must use a voltage divider. Use R1=62kΩ and R2=10kΩ to step down the voltage, then you will be able to digitalRead.

Inkplate 10 is recommended for your usecase and is available with a 3D printed case.
