Customer:
I recently purchased an Inkplate 10 and have been trying to get started using the examples provided at GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-micropython: MicroPython driver for Soldered Inkplate devices · GitHub. I successfully flashed the firmware, but all the example scripts (I tried basicBW and exampleNetwork) fail on running due to an error “Sd card could not be read”. I’ve tried installing an SD card as well and still see the error.

Soldered Support:
Which version of Inkplate 10 do you have? The e-Radionica one (blue) or the Soldered one (purple)?
There are differences between MicroPython drivers for each of those boards. Try going to the micropython repository and downloading the ‘dev’ branch, as linked here GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-micropython at dev · GitHub.
In this branch, we have support for some of the newer Inkplate devices as well. If your Inkplate board is newer (Purple), you have to copy the driver ‘soldered_inkplate10.py’ to your board. If it’s the blue one, still give the dev branch a try. Follow the instructions found in the repository exactly.
Customer:
I have the Soldered purple model and after checking out the dev branch I was able to run the examples after following the instructions in the README, modified as follows: copying the listed library files, but changing mcp23017.py to PCAL6416A.py and inkplate10.py to soldered_inkplate10.py, then running the example scripts under Examples/Soldered_Inkplate10/.
I think it’d be helpful for future users to see a note in the README in master to indicate there are differences in the Inkplate models and that the Soldered scripts are in the dev branch for now.
Soldered Support:
There will be an update very soon to get the micropython main branch updated with all the newest boards and a more detailed README.
Soldered Support:
We have made an official release of the MicroPython repository for all of the new Inkplate boards, so you can get it from the main branch now, along with a more detailed README.
