Inkplate 10 factory image has poor quality and washed-out colors

Customer:

I recently purchased an Inkplate 10 and the factory-shipped image it’s still displaying has fairly terrible image quality, much worse than the pictures on the Crowd Supply page: washed-out, with a few dark grey blotches in the cloud cover in the sky and really bad greys. This sounds like the firmware/voltage problems that have been reported. I’m concerned about doing a firmware update as my first action on a new device since I’ve read about potential screen damage risks, though the EEPROM handling should prevent actual damage. Should I try displaying a few of my own images first to rule out a poor factory image, or proceed with a firmware update?

The picture quality issue has been fixed. You can update your Inkplate without fear of damaging the screen. The best option is to upload an example from the Inkplate library and then see the picture quality.
