Inkplate 10 HTTPS OTA firmware updates with partition scheme

Customer:

I’m developing a product using Inkplate 10 and need to implement HTTPS OTA firmware updates, but I can’t get these OTA updates to work.

My understanding is that the current board definition uses a single-partition scheme that doesn’t support OTA.

My questions:

  • Can you point me in the right direction as to how to get OTA updates to work on Inkplate 10?
  • Is there a partition scheme option in Arduino IDE for Inkplate 10 that includes OTA support?

My setup:

  • 10 pieces of Inkplate 10 V2 (PCAL6416A expander)
  • Arduino IDE with Soldered Inkplate board definition
  • Firmware size: ~1.2MB
  • Flash: 4MB

Soldered Support:

Yes, there is a partition scheme which should work with OTA updates. You can change the default partition scheme by going to Tools->Partition Scheme->Minimal SPIFFS in the Arduino IDE, this should be suitable for both your firmware size needs as well as OTA support. Try this out and let us know if you need further troubleshooting.
