Inkplate 10 new version without touchpads, wake methods

Customer:

I received a recent Inkplate 10 that does not have touch pads anymore. Is this documented somewhere? Since they are not available on my board version, is there another way to wake and interact with the Inkplate in deep sleep mode apart from the wake button, for example wake-on-lan?

Also, what happened to the Inkplate forum website? When I go there I’m getting shown a web server directory listing. Did it move or is it gone?

Soldered Support:

There are now two variants of Inkplate 10. If you got the version without touchpads from a distributor, the product listing may not have been updated to reflect this. If it’s from the Soldered website, the removal of touchpads wasn’t documented as an occurrence - the product images were updated and the touchpads are no longer listed in the product features.

We don’t have wake-on-lan. To interact with Inkplate 10, you can use a button connected between one of the ESP32’s GPIOs and ground and use esp_sleep_enable_ext0_wakeup to set the pin which wakes up Inkplate. Check the available pins which can be assigned via this function as not all pins work for wakeup. To test it, you can short the pin and GND and see if Inkplate wakes up. When you’re sure it works, solder a simple button.
