Inkplate 10 won't auto-start after power loss

Customer:

I have several Inkplate 10 units powered by USB-C. When power fails for more than a few seconds, the devices don’t restart automatically—I have to manually press the On button on each one. Is there a way to force the Inkplate 10 to always turn on when power is restored?

Soldered Support:

This is normal behavior for the Inkplate and the power switch. If you need the Inkplate to be constantly turned on, you can disable the switch by soldering a resistor on the board. Then the board will turn on whenever it has power.

The resistor is marked on the board and you need to solder the 0R resistor. If you don’t have a resistor, you can make a bridge with solder or use wire. After soldering it in place, the board can’t be turned off with the switch because it will have power all the time through this resistor. Later, if you need the switch again, you can desolder that resistor and the switch will work again.
