Hi @peasterbrook

It’s hard to pin point the exact issue with the board given how little info is in the post but here are a few things you can try:

Make sure that the board is powered on, not just plugged in (there is a power switch located next to the usb port and make sure the LED is turned on when the board is plugged in, if the LED is not reacting to the button make sure that the Power LED Switch is set to position 1)
Have you tried installing a CH340 driver on your machine? You should see a port called /dev/cu.wchusbserial-110 in addition to the /dev/cu.usbserial-110. Try using the the wchusbserial one. If you don’t see it listed you can get the driver from here
Make sure you are using the provided USB-C cable

Thanks for responding, I am using a Mac (26.5.2), and I followed the quick start guide. I have tried the original cable and a known good cable that I used to flash an esp32 recently. I do get a blue light after plugging in the USB and hitting the power button. I am happy to provide any additional logs or run any diagnostic.

As i mentioned I’m on a Mac, the driver is for windows, the quick start guide also explicitly states that the driver is not needed for Mac

I changed the baud rate to 115200, and the upload and compile seemed to complete, however the device is stuck on a reset loop with the suggested hello world example from the quick start guide

This is what I have on my end and it works fine, I’m not sure what else we could try. Can you check the code you are running and make sure it is the as mine? And make sure you are running the latest library version.

yes I used the inkplatelibrary5.2 basic helloworld example and the latest library is installed, 11.1.4. I am attaching the complile log. At this point the board is non-functional, I have a number of esp32 boards and not had one fail like this before, I think it’s time for a replacement.

Perhaps, but before that could you try the following:

Set Core Debug Level to Verbose in Tools and send the logs from that
Run a minimal Arduino example (without including Inkplate library or any code from Inkplate) such as the following and send us the logs (also with debug level set to verbose)

Yeah something seems off, can you just verify you are using the included cable and powering the board directly off of you computer (not via a hub or something)? Also, is the device under warranty?

yup i’m using the blue cable that came with it, it’s plugged into my macbook. I just purchased this last week, I’ve tried going to the returns page but every time it says the emailed link is expired. How do I get a replacement for this one.
