Inkplate 6 hard reset via RTS pin fails but blue light is on

Customer:

I’m trying to run sample projects on my Inkplate 6. The code appears to upload and I see:

Leaving…
Hard resetting via RTS pin…

But then nothing happens. The device is on – the blue light is visible. How can I diagnose if the device is dead or if I’m doing something wrong? I’m using a Mac mini (M4).

Customer:

I’ve managed to run sample programs on an Inkplate 2, so it’s possible my Inkplate 6 is dead.

Soldered Support:

Which board definition are you using? If you are using Soldered Inkplate 6, try e-Radionica Inkplate 6 and vice-versa. Both are in the same Inkplate boards package in Arduino. Try running the ‘hello world’ example from the basic examples – this example should always work.

Your error message means the code has uploaded but the panel is not responding. The different board definitions interact with the panel in different ways, so it makes a difference.

If that doesn’t solve it, please send pictures of your Inkplate’s panel so we can check for any faults.

Customer:

Yes, it was as easy as changing the board definition. That fixed it.
