Inkplate 6 MOTION MCP73831 configuration for third-party battery

Customer:

I’m planning a project using the Inkplate 6 MOTION with frequent updates and long periods without charging. I need to use a larger capacity battery sourced from outside your store: ICR18650 10050mAh 3.7V.

Question 1: The MCP73831 battery charger on the Inkplate has configuration options. Will I need to change any of those for optimal use with this battery?

Question 2: Do you have any timeline for restocking the Inkplate 6 MOTION?

Soldered Support:

The MCP73831 does not need to be changed for your battery. However, you can change the SMD resistor R38 on the board to a higher resistance value. This will slow down charging but will help preserve battery health over longer term use. The Inkplate 6 MOTION datasheet and KiCAD files are available to help you with this modification.
