Inkplate 6 Motion power consumption at 11fps updates

Customer:

We are planning to review your new display. ePaper displays have been using exceptionally low energy when showing static images but were very energy-intense when updating the screen. How does that relate to 11fps updates? What would be the average energy consumption at 11fps compared to TFT and OLED? Given that low energy consumption is among the primary unique selling points for ePaper, without energy figures for operational scenarios, no evaluation is possible. These numbers seem to be missing on your website where only deep sleep currents are listed.

Soldered Support:

The product is still in the development phase. Current measurements during screen updates at 11fps have not yet been taken, but that data can be provided in a few days.

Soldered Support:

The average current with 11fps updates has been measured using the clouds animation from the Inkplate 6 Motion Animation sketch. The average current is 488mA, and the maximum current is 740mA. With other animation examples, different currents are observed: Water animation—350mA average, Logo animation—280mA average. The current depends on the animation and its size.
