Inkplate 6 partial refresh limit and full refresh time

Customer:

I’m interested in using the 6" Inkplate in an upcoming project. How quickly does the display refresh, and how many partial refreshes can be performed before a full refresh is required? I’m concerned whether the screen could be damaged over time if it’s not refreshed frequently enough.

Soldered Support:

We recommend a maximum of 20 partial refreshes because if you don’t use a full refresh occasionally, some content on the screen might be discharged - for example, black content will fade if the previous color was also black. The full refresh takes around 1.3 seconds on the Inkplate 6.

You won’t damage the screen if you don’t refresh frequently enough.
