Inkplate 6COLOR crashes during display.display() after idle period

Customer:

I have an issue that I think could be related to faulty hardware. Sometimes, especially after a while not updating the display (display.display()), the Inkplate crashes when I call display.display(). I think this might be a power management issue.

Customer:

When the sketch fails, it happens right after it prints “about to update”, so just when display.display() starts. I’ve tried many versions but it’s always the same behaviour. It fails usually only every 5th update.

Soldered Support:

Could you please check if you have the latest version of the Inkplate library? There have been issues with Inkplate 6COLOR power that have since been patched via software. Try to get the latest library via GitHub - I’d even suggest trying the dev version: GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Inkplate-Arduino-library at dev · GitHub

Install that library and upload your sketch, then see if the issue persists.
