Inkplate 6PLUS fails to program with wrong board selected error

Customer:

I have an older Inkplate 6PLUS that I’ve been trying to program using Arduino IDE, but it keeps failing with “wrong board selected…” (I selected the e-radionica 6plus serial port at 115200 baud).

I can connect to the same USB-serial port/speed to get some of the “peripheral mode” commands to work, but after a while it ceases to respond. At power-up I get this output:

VCOM EEPROM PROGRAMMING FAILED!

It seems there are some faults here - possibly flash or EEPROM issues. I’m trying to find experienced users who might know what the problem is.

Soldered Support:

The issue stems from selecting the wrong example. In the Tools menu, select the board as shown in the documentation for Inkplate 6PLUS.

If the “wrong board selected” header guard appears, this means you’re loading examples for a different board. Make sure you’re using the examples specifically for Inkplate 6PLUS.

Your Inkplate 6PLUS is currently running old test code. When you upload new code, this will be completely overwritten, so you don’t need to worry about it. Once you upload the correct code using the Soldered Inkplate 6PLUS board definition, it should work properly.
