Customer:
I successfully replaced the cracked display and it works perfectly now. Here are some notes on the process:
Cutting the tape was not possible with dental floss - the edges of the display glass are too sharp and cut the floss immediately. Instead I used a very fine (number 8) guitar string, and even with this I needed a lot of tension and patience, but it eventually cut through all the tape.
The tape was white.
I used a VERY thin tape to replace the screen - thinner than the white tape: Amazon.com: AJ Sign World Best 1" Ultra-Thin Permanent Double-Sided Tape for Arts, Crafts, Photography, Scrapbooking, Tear-by-Hand, Paper Backing (1-Inch by 164-Feet/55 Yards) : Arts, Crafts & Sewing
I cleaned with a blade all little imperfections from the case bezel all around the display so there would be no pressure on the glass when the case was closed.
Regarding the battery specifications on your Github: you state “battery size shouldn’t exceed 90mm x 50mm (3.5 x 1.95 inch) and 5.5mm (0.2 inch) in height”. I purchased a battery that is 80mm x 50mm x 5mm and it DOES NOT FIT, mainly because of the “wall hanging screw” features on the case back. I believe the maximum size for the enclosure should be something like 90mm x 40mm x 5mm. I see common size of 70mm x 50mm x 5mm on Ebay - “504070” is the search size - rated 1600mAh to 2000mAh.
Other than these small issues I am enjoying Inkplate a lot - thank you!
