Inkplate I2C communication fails with MPU6050 Wire.end() error

Customer:

I’m trying to communicate via I2C to modules, for example an MPU6050 at address 0x68. I’m using the basic reading example from File > Examples > Adafruit MPU6050 > basic_readings, added the address 0x68 and inkplate.h. I get a strange error with _wire->end(); Here is my code: #include <Adafruit_MPU6050.h>#include <Adafruit_Sensor.h>#include <Wire.h> - Pastebin.com and the error dump: Arduino: 1.8.19 (Mac OS X), Board: "Inkplate 6 plus (ESP32), Enabled, Default, 2 - Pastebin.com

Soldered Support:

The Adafruit library (BusIO) uses the Wire.end function, which isn’t supported in ESP32 core v1.0.5. Inkplate uses ESP32 core v1.0.5, which is why you’re getting this error. Wire.end is supported in ESP32 v2.0.0 core. You can try using an older version of Adafruit BusIO that does not use the Wire.end function. We’re working to update our core to v2.0.0, but it’s a lot of work and the timeline is uncertain.
