Inkplate pin requirements compared to Nextion display

Customer:

I’m developing a radio control system that might use Inkplate because of its visibility in bright daylight. Currently I’m using a Nextion 5" display with a serial interface to a Teensy 4.1 MCU using just two pins. How many pins do I need to interface with Inkplate screens?

Soldered Support:

Inkplate is an all-in-one device with a microcontroller and built-in e-paper screen. You don’t need additional wires to connect to the screen—just a USB cable. It has ESP32 on board and you only need to program it. The screen is already connected to the ESP32 internally, so you don’t need to worry about it. The device also has available GPIO pins you can use like on other microcontrollers.
