Customer:
I ran an I2C scanner sketch to debug the touchscreen issue further and it didn’t detect any device at the touchscreen controller’s expected address (0x48). Since the chip is unresponsive on the bus, what would you suggest? I’m comfortable reflowing the solder joints if you think that could be a solution.

Soldered Support:
Every Inkplate is tested during manufacturing including the touchscreen, so it should work. Touchscreens are unfortunately very sensitive to electromagnetic noise in the environment. We’ve had rare cases where touchscreens worked perfectly in our office and manufacturing plant but not in users’ locations.
Try this: if you have aluminum foil (or better, aluminum foil tape), place it on the connector and around the flat cable to protect it. Test this both while the Inkplate is outside the case and with aluminum foil shielding to see if the touchscreen works better.
When testing, go back to the original unmodified library. You don’t need to reflow the solder joints - let me know how this test goes.
