I’m interested in the Li-ion battery charger with protection (SKU 101408). I need to charge two 18650 cells and I’m wondering if it’s appropriate to connect them in parallel to the charger output, and how this combination would affect the charger’s operation and the protection function. Would it be better to install an additional protection in parallel so each cell is protected individually?

Poštovani!Zanima me punjač za Li-ion bateriju s zaštitom ( SKU 10140 B ).Trebam puniti po dvije baterije 18650 pa me zanima dali je uputno spojiti ih paralelno na izlaz punjača i kako bi takva kombinacija utjecala na rad punjača i djelovanje zaštite? It is not recommended to connect two lithium cells in parallel unless they have been previously balanced, especially if they do not already have protection built in.
Each cell must have its own protection. If you do not balance the cells (bring them to the same voltage), you will need a separate charger for each cell.

hvala na upitu. Nije preporučljivo spajati dvije litijske baterije paralelno ukoliko one nisu prethodno tome balansirane, a posebno ako nemaju zaštitu već na sebi.
Svaka baterija mora imati svoju zaštitu. Ukoliko baterije ne balansirate(dovedete na isti napon), trebat ćete i punjač za svaku bateriju zasebno.

Thank you for the answer, but now I have another question. Is it suitable to use a charger without protection and connect independent protections in parallel to it, so that in this case the cells would be independently protected? I haven’t found an option in the product range to buy just a protection module, and do you sell balancers?

Yes, that is definitely a completely correct option.
We do not have protections as a separate product. We also do not have balancers, but you won’t find them as standalone products anyway, because they vary too much from cell to cell and are typically built into lithium battery chargers in series.
