Logic Level Converter Board mounting hole positions and bidirectional conversion options

Customer:

I’m inquiring about the Logic Level Converter Board (PN: 333029).

Soldered Support:

The dimensions are 22 x 22 mm / 0.9 x 0.9 inch. You can find this info on the product page: Logic Level Converter Board – Soldered Electronics

The round holes which can be used for mounting are lego-compatible and are 4.8mm in diameter.

Customer:

I need to know the position of the mounting bore.

Please refer to the open source repository, which has the 3D step file in OUTPUTS and the kicad pcb files in CAD: GitHub - SolderedElectronics/Logic-level-converter-board-hardware-design: Hardware design, BOM, gerbers and 3D files for Logic-level-converter-board designed by Soldered Electronics. · GitHub

The pcb design can be opened using KiCad software. The holes with 4.8mm diameter are, from the center of the hole, 3mm away from the edge of the PCB.

My mechanical engineer needs a drawing. Can you provide one?

Soldered Support:

I apologize for the earlier information about the mounting hole diameter - those measurements actually apply to our larger boards. On this board the mounting holes are smaller.

Customer:

Does the module come with a male header?

Soldered Support:

Yes, it comes with a male header by standard on all our breakouts.

Customer:

Regarding fan-out: can I connect the inputs, or can one input drive four outputs from one channel?

Attachment omitted in migration: ~WRD3145.jpg

Soldered Support:

This device converts a low voltage 3v3 signal to a 5v signal. Do you need conversion from 3v3 to 5v or from 5v to 3v3? This breakout can only convert from 3v3 to 5v, not the other way around.

Regarding your fan-out question: it’s recommended to use 4 of the same inputs for 4 different outputs, as there could be unpredictable behavior of the signal which is connected via parallel and shared with other devices that are controlled.

Customer:

Can I use SKU: 333017 instead?

Attachment omitted in migration: image001.jpg

Soldered Support:

Yes, that will work. That one is bi-directional. Please refer to the datasheet here if you need any more info: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/txb0104.pdf
