You can use the Arduino SoftwareSerial library. Here’s the pin mapping:
| NCV7329 Pin | Connects to |
|---|---|
| TXD | Arduino D3 (TX via SoftwareSerial) |
| RXD | Arduino D4 (optional, for receive) |
| EN | Arduino D2 (set HIGH to enable) |
| GND | Arduino GND |
| VS | 12V power supply |
| LIN | Your LIN bus line |
Here’s a basic example:
#include <SoftwareSerial.h>
#define TX_PIN 3
#define EN_PIN 2
SoftwareSerial linSerial(TX_PIN, -1); // TX only
void setup() {
pinMode(EN_PIN, OUTPUT);
digitalWrite(EN_PIN, HIGH); // Enable transceiver
linSerial.begin(19200); // LIN runs at 19200 bps
delay(1000);
sendLINFrame();
}
void loop() {
// Can send repeatedly, if needed
}
void sendLINFrame() {
// This is a basic example; not a full LIN frame!
linSerial.write(0x55); // Sync byte
linSerial.write(0x10); // Example PID
linSerial.write(0x01); // Data byte 1
linSerial.write(0x02); // Data byte 2
linSerial.write(0x03); // Checksum (placeholder)
}
Important: the transceiver only handles the physical layer of communication—it doesn’t implement the LIN protocol itself. You’ll need to implement the LIN protocol in software on the Arduino side, depending on what your project requires (e.g., acting as a LIN master or slave, what messages to send/receive, etc.).
