PIR Movement Sensor SKU 333083 connection and delay reset time

Customer:

I have recently purchased a PIR Movement Sensor SKU 333083 and wish to connect it with my Arduino UNO. However, this board has 4 pins including 1 x SOUT and 1 x DOUT. The datasheet on your website only shows a 3 pin version with a VOUT pin. I have not been able to find a matching datasheet on the internet for this product. Could you please tell me how I should connect the SOUT and DOUT pins? Is a datasheet for this product available?

Soldered Support:

Wire the VCC and GND pins to those on your Arduino UNO, and then connect DOUT as the digital output to an Arduino digital pin. To read DOUT, set the pin as INPUT, and then simply use digitalRead(). It will return true if motion is detected.

There is an output at SOUT but it only varies between ca. 10 to 20 for no movement and ca. 960 to 980 for movement out of a total of 1023. My test of the product was successful - it does measure movement, producing HIGH for movement and LOW for no movement. However, whilst there is no delay from LOW to HIGH, there is a delay of ca. 20 seconds for the unit to reset to LOW. Is there anything I can do to change that?

The simple Arduino IDE code I used for the test is as follows:

const int led = 9; // Led positive terminal to the digital pin 9.
const int sensor = 5; // DOUT of sensor to digital pin 5.

void setup() {
  pinMode(led, OUTPUT); // Led is determined as an output here.
  pinMode(sensor, INPUT); // PIR motion sensor is determined as an input here.
  Serial.begin(9600);
}

void loop(){
  int val = digitalRead(sensor);
  switch (val) {
    case HIGH:
      digitalWrite(led, HIGH);
      Serial.println(" Motion detected ");
      delay(500);
      break;
    case LOW:
      digitalWrite(led, LOW);
      Serial.println("No motion detected");
      delay(500);
  }
}

To change that, try to adjust the DELAY potentiometer on the back of the board. You can rotate it with a small screwdriver. This should affect the time it takes for the unit to reset.
