Servo motor incompatible with Dasduino ConnectPLUS

Customer:

I’m using Dasduino ConnectPLUS with Arduino IDE 2.3. I need a servo motor for my project. I tried using both the Servo.h library and ServoEsp32, but both give me compilation errors.

Original message (Croatian)

Koristim Dasduino Connect plus i Arduino IDE 2.3.

Soldered Support:

Can you send the error and a screenshot of your Tools menu in Arduino? That would help me determine where the issue is.

The board definition should be set to Dasduino ConnectPLUS, and compiling a regular example with a WS-LED or “Hello World” over Serial should work and the code should upload successfully. Can you try that with the Dasduino?

Original message (Croatian)

Možeš li poslati grešku i screenshot svog Tools izbornika u Arduinu?

The Servo.h library generates the following error:

Which library should I use for servo motors on Dasduino ConnectPLUS?

Dasduino ConnectPLUS is an ESP32 microprocessor, so you need a library designed for it.

First, make sure you have installed the Dasduino ConnectPLUS board definition in Arduino. Here’s a tutorial on how to do this (step 2 at this link): https://soldered.com/learn/add-inkplate-6-board-definition-to-arduino-ide/

Then you need to install a different library for Servo. Here’s one library I found for this: GitHub - jkb-git/ESP32Servo: Arduino-compatible servo library for the ESP32 · GitHub

Here’s how to install it:

  • Open Arduino IDE. Go to “Sketch” > “Include Library” > “Add .ZIP Library…”. Find and select the .zip file of the library which can be downloaded from GitHub (on the green Code button → Download .zip). Click “Open” or “OK”. Arduino IDE will install the library and it will be available for use.

There’s a fairly simple example (under examples/sweep) that should be exactly what you need and work OK.

Razumijem.

Evo jedan library koji sam pronašao za ovo: GitHub - jkb-git/ESP32Servo: Arduino-compatible servo library for the ESP32 · GitHub
Evo kako se instalira:

Otvori Arduino IDE.
