Using Inkplate with PlatformIO and VSCode

Customer:

How can I use Inkplate with PlatformIO and VSCode? How do I define the board? I cannot find a way to install an Additional Boards Manager.

Soldered Support:

Inkplate is officially supported only with Arduino and MicroPython, not PlatformIO. We recommend the Arduino extension for VSCode, which works essentially the same way as PlatformIO. Here is a tutorial to get started with Arduino: Inkplate Get Started Page — Inkplate docs documentation

There you will find a tutorial on how to install the Inkplate library and the board definitions.

Once you create a new Arduino project, save it, open the folder in VSCode, and then you can use VSCode with the Arduino extension.

If you need more detailed or specific instructions for any of the steps, let me know and I’m happy to help.
