WS2812 2020 LED decoupling capacitor requirements

Customer:

I have a question about the WS2812 2020 LED. Do I need a filter capacitor for each LED? The datasheet says yes, but forum discussions are mixed on this. Can I use fewer capacitors, for example having two LEDs share a single filter capacitor?

imam pitanje vezano za vasu prodaju WS2812 2020 led dioda.

Zanima me je li potrebno uz svaku diodu imati filter cap?

Soldered Support:

I recommend placing a 100nF filter capacitor near each LED, as it will ensure the LEDs work without issues. The LEDs can operate without the capacitor, but there may be times when colours don’t display correctly and the LEDs don’t work as expected. If you’re designing your own board, I suggest including one capacitor per LED in the design, and you can leave them unsoldered initially to test how it works without them.
